Comments: | November 11, 2008 marked the 90th anniversary of the end of
hostilities in the First World War. We commemorate this date every year in Canada by
wearing poppies on our coats to signify that we remember those who fought, those
who were wounded, and those who died. The poppies in my painting are scattered
on the mud of the battlefields. In October 2009 a friend sent me a link to a website Flanders Fields Music which is a wonderful tribute to our fallen soldiers. Make sure you watch the video. |
