Comments: | To me, The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louises), which celebrated its Centenary in 2003, will always be the regiment. My late father, Arthur W. Stewart, CD, retired as Regimental Sergeant Major, the culmination of his military service. My son, Iain S. Sneyd, by whom this painting was commissioned, served with RCACC 2347, the affiliated Cadet Corps, as a cadet and as a civilian volunteer, from 1989 to 2004. The three faces in the painting are deliberately anonymous, representing any Argyll of World War I, World War II and the Peacekeepers. The lettering, in silver to match the regimental cap badge, is the regimental motto, Albainn Gu-Brath, Scotland Forever. |
