Memorial to the Fallen of the Füselier-Regiments Nr. 80 von Gersdorff (Kurhessisch) of the First World War, Wiesbaden, Germany

History: This memorial was erected in April 1930 and dedicated October 5, 1930. Under the initiative of Generalleutnant von Müller, honourary chairman of the 80th Monument Association, it was planned and designed by sculptor Arnold Hensler and architect Edmund Fabry. The large porphyry block and eight additional memorial stones commemorate the 15,680 dead of the Füselier-Regiment. The monument was cleaned before 2002 and again in 2010 as part of a renovation of the enclosure. (Information courtesy of Dr. Katherine Lukat, Kulturamt/Stadtarchiv Wiesbaden, March 25, 2021.)
