Comments: This collage is a tribute to Pilot Officer Ivor Malcolm Payne Morgan, RAF, killed in action, Saturday 17 April 1943. Morgan was the pilot of Vickers Wellington Mk X, Registration HE387, 196 Squadron RAF flying out of RAF Leconfield on a bombing mission to Mannheim. He was shot down by night fighter pilot Hauptmann Hans-Karl Kamp of the 7./NJG 4, flying a Bf 110 or Do 217 from Juvincourt airfield. The plane crashed near Couvron-et-Aumencourt, Aisne, Hauts-de-France, killing all five members of her crew. The crew were buried at Couvron-et-Aumencourt Communal Cemetery.

Ivor Morgan was my mother's first fiancé. See also Ghost Raid - Flight of the Missing for an additional tribute to Ivor.
